Urges the Public Utilities Commission to terminate consideration of an interisland high-voltage electric transmission cable system and industrial-scale wind energy facilities on the island of Lānai.

Notes that Act 165 (2012) authorized construction of an undersea cable to link Oʻahu consumers to wind energy on other islands, but explicitly stated no particular island was required to participate.

States that the Hawaiian Electric Company publicly announced in May 2013 it no longer needed industrial wind energy from Lānai to meet renewable portfolio standards, and the State Energy Office confirmed such energy is not needed for state energy goals.

Points to strong and consistent community opposition from Lānai residents and statewide groups, and notes that Pūlama Lānai and its parent company Lanai Island Holdings, LLC have expressed no desire to place industrial wind turbines on the island.

Requires certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Public Utilities Commission Chairperson, Maui County Mayor, Lanai Island Holdings, Castle & Cooke Hawaiʻi, and various Lānai community organizations.
