Honors Bryan Rankie as the 2013 Milken Educator Teacher of Promise Award recipient, a teacher at Mauka Lani Elementary School whose students have closed achievement gaps and met federal benchmarks.

Recognizes Laura Fukumoto and Dave Morishige as recipients of the 2012 Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching; Fukumoto taught at Aliamanu Elementary School for 40 years while Morishige taught for 23 years and founded robotics clubs.

Honors Christel Collins of Manoa Public Library as the 2013 State Librarian of the Year for overseeing construction of a new, environmentally-friendly library facility.
