Commends and congratulates Keith Y. Tamashiro on his promotion to the rank of Brigadier General in the Hawaii National Guard, which occurred on March 5, 2014.

Recognizes Tamashiro's 30-year residency in Hawaii and his military service spanning active duty from 1984-1988 and Hawaii Army National Guard service from 1988 onward.

Highlights his command of the 1st Battalion, 487th Field Artillery from 2001-2007, including leadership during Operation Iraqi Freedom deployment in 2004 where he commanded the battalion and served as base camp commander for over 2,100 personnel.

Acknowledges his subsequent assignments as Brigade Commander of the 20th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (2010-2012) and current position as Assistant Adjutant General and Director of the Joint Staff for the Hawaii National Guard (as of June 2013).

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Adjutant General of the State of Hawaii and Brigadier General Keith Y. Tamashiro.
