Requests the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources to convene a task force to investigate managed shoreline retreat and coastal land acquisition in Hawaii.

Task force membership includes representatives from the Office of Conservation and Coastal Lands, all four county mayors' offices, the State Coastal Zone Management Program, University of Hawaii Department of Geology and Geophysics, an environmental attorney specializing in land use and climate, and a non-governmental land trust representative.

Task force directed to evaluate feasibility of acquiring coastal lands abutting legacy beaches, determine which agency would administer such a program, and identify potential funding mechanisms.

Allocates $100,000 for task force administration with members serving without compensation; task force must submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session.

Task force dissolves on June 30, 2016.
