Request the Department of Education, with County of Maui assistance, to identify Department of Education facilities on Molokai that can serve as emergency shelters during natural disasters.

Require identification and description of any deficiencies at listed facilities that would jeopardize health and safety, along with required improvements for emergency shelter use.

Direct submission of the facility list, findings, and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the Regular Session of 2015.

Acknowledge Molokai's vulnerability to natural disasters, noting that 25 of 29 damage claims from the 2011 tsunami in Maui County originated from Molokai.

Transmit certified copies of the resolution to the Board of Education Chairperson, Education Superintendent, Maui County Mayor, Adjutant General, and Maui County Civil Defense Agency.
