Urges the Governor to proclaim 2014 as the Year of the Worldwide Voyage to commemorate the Hōkūleʻa's worldwide voyage beginning that year.

Recognizes Hōkūleʻa as a traditionally navigated vessel that has voyaged over 140,000 miles across the Pacific Ocean since its first sail from Hawaii to Tahiti in 1976.

Highlights the worldwide voyage will cover 47,000 miles over four years, visiting 26 countries and 85 ports to raise awareness of ocean protection and Hawaiian natural resource management practices.

Acknowledges Hōkūleʻa's role in reconnecting Pacific island communities, rekindling Native Hawaiian pride, and providing environmental and cultural education for Pacific island youth.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Governor, Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism, Hawaii Tourism Authority, and the Polynesian Voyaging Society.
