Endorses and supports the Aloha+ Challenge, an integrated sustainability initiative with six ambitious targets to be achieved by 2030 including clean energy (70 percent), local food production (20-30 percent), natural resource management, waste reduction (50 percent), smart sustainable communities, and green workforce development.

Recognizes Hawaii's dependence on imports for 95 percent of energy and 85 percent of food at an estimated annual cost of over $8 billion, establishing the need for a statewide commitment to sustainability.

Notes that the Governor, all County Mayors, and the Chair of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs have expressed interest in accepting the Aloha+ Challenge as a partnership with state, county, federal, business, and nongovernmental leaders.

Requests the Hawaii State Sustainability Coordinator to submit a report to the Legislature no later than 20 days prior to the 2015 Regular Session on the launch of the Aloha+ Challenge, including recommendations for promoting action and tracking progress on sustainability targets.

Directs the Governor to transmit certified copies of the resolution to each executive department director, all county mayors, and the Chair of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
