Request that the City and County of Honolulu name the new Central Oahu Ambulance Facility after the late Loretta Fuddy, Director of Health.

Loretta Fuddy served as Director of Health starting in 2011 after three decades with the Department, holding degrees in sociology, social work, and public health.

Director Fuddy died on December 11, 2013, in a commuter plane crash off the Kalaupapa peninsula while serving Kalaupapa residents; she was killed in the line of duty.

The Legislature appropriated funds to the City and County of Honolulu in Act 134, Session Laws of Hawaii 2013, for the Central Oahu Ambulance Facility to provide emergency medical services to Leeward Oahu residents.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Governor, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, and Director of Emergency Services of the City and County of Honolulu.
