HI SB1181

Establishes a priority system for how earnings from employment are distributed for inmates on furlough, with child support payments receiving first priority.

Requires 25% of net monthly earnings to be allocated toward restitution, crime victim compensation fees, and other court-ordered fees and fines, in that order of priority.

Authorizes the Director of Public Safety to establish the rate of reimbursement to the State for room and board costs, replacing the previous unspecified requirement.

Allows remaining earnings after mandatory obligations are paid to be held in an individual account for the committed person.

Takes effect July 1, 2030.
