HI SB2029

Increases the minimum age to purchase tobacco products and electronic smoking devices from 18 to 21 years old.

Prohibits the sale or furnishing of tobacco in any form, including chewing tobacco and snuff, and electronic smoking devices to persons under 21 years of age.

Creates an exception for individuals born on or before June 30, 1996, allowing them to purchase tobacco and electronic smoking devices regardless of current age.

Updates signage requirements at points of sale and vending machines to reflect the new age restriction of 21 and the exemption for those born on or before June 30, 1996.

Effective date is July 1, 2014.
