Appropriates $2,800,000 from general revenues for fiscal year 2014-2015 to fund the interdisciplinary Hawaii health systems corporation primary care training program at the Hilo Medical Center.

Establishes an interdisciplinary primary care training program administered by Hilo Medical Center in coordination with Hawaii health systems corporation regions, including family medicine residency, advanced practice nurses, clinical pharmacists, and psychologists.

Addresses the state's shortage of primary care providers by creating interdisciplinary teams capable of caring for four times as many patients as independent practicing physicians.

Funds shall be expended by the Hawaii health systems corporation for program purposes, with program to potentially expand to other neighbor island health facilities.

Effective date: July 1, 2014.
