Establishes failure to report a missing child as a class C felony when a caregiver fails to verify a child's safety and whereabouts for more than 48 hours and fails to report the child as missing to law enforcement.

Creates a class C felony for failure to report the death of a child, requiring caregivers to report a child's death to law enforcement within two hours of discovery.

Establishes a class C felony for giving false information to law enforcement regarding a missing child, when done with intent to mislead or impede a missing person or felony criminal investigation.

Defines "caregiver" as a parent, legal guardian, or other person legally charged with the care or custody of a child.

Does not preclude prosecution for other applicable offenses including homicide, child abuse, reckless endangering, or endangering the welfare of a minor.
