Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 707-711(1) to add liquor commission investigators to the list of protected persons under assault in the second degree.

Makes it assault in the second degree to intentionally or knowingly cause bodily injury to a liquor commission investigator while engaged in the performance of duty.

Defines "liquor commission investigator" as having the same meaning as "investigator" in section 281-1.

Also expands the definition of protected persons to include water safety officers (lifeguards and ocean safety personnel) in the same assault statute.

Takes effect upon approval and does not affect rights, duties, or proceedings that began before the effective date.
