Allows boards and commissions to send meeting notices by electronic mail in addition to postal mail to registered requestors.

Requires meeting notices be transmitted at least six calendar days before a public meeting, replacing the previous requirement to mail notices when the agenda is filed.

Permits boards and commissions to maintain lists of both postal and electronic mailing addresses for persons requesting meeting notifications.

Expands emergency meeting notification procedures to include contact by postal or electronic mail in addition to telephone.

Effective upon approval, allowing public agencies to reduce postage costs while improving public access through electronic notice delivery.
