Requires the Department of Public Safety to implement pre-employment psychological screening for deputy sheriff recruits to assess emotional and psychological fitness for law enforcement duties.

Establishes psychological examination as a screening tool to identify unstable, immature, or overly aggressive candidates and prevent harm to the public and fellow officers.

Appropriates funds from general revenues for fiscal year 2014-2015 to conduct psychological testing of deputy sheriff recruits (amount left blank in bill text).

Takes effect on July 1, 2014.
