Allows qualified podiatric physicians to perform ankle fracture surgery if they are board qualified or board certified in reconstructive rearfoot ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and have completed a thirty-six-month podiatric surgical residency.

Amends the definition of "podiatric medicine" to include surgical treatment of muscles and tendons of the leg governing foot functions, conforming to national standards.

Removes the prohibition on podiatrists treating ankle fractures and expands scope to include treatment of the ankle as part of podiatric medicine.

Clarifies that amputation authority for podiatrists is limited to digital amputation and does not extend above the ankle.

Takes effect upon approval.
