Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 378-32(b) to remove the requirement that employers have a collective bargaining agreement with employees for sick leave protections to apply.

Maintains the prohibition against employers barring, discharging, withholding pay, or demoting employees for using accrued and available sick leave.

Retains employer authority to require written physician verification after an employee uses three or more consecutive days of sick leave.

Expands protections to apply to all employers with 100 or more employees, regardless of collective bargaining agreement status.

Takes effect upon approval.
