Department of Transportation and University of Hawaii must complete negotiations and execute an agreement to relocate the University of Hawaii Marine Center no later than July 1, 2015.

The seventeen-acre Marine Center currently operates under a gratis lease from DOT; this land is needed for the Kapalama container terminal project.

If no relocation agreement is executed by July 1, 2015, the existing lease shall be automatically terminated as a matter of law on that date.

Department of Transportation has agreed to fund $17,000,000 for the relocation of the Marine Center.

DOT must report to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2015 regular session convenes on the progress of negotiations and agreement execution.
