HI SB880

Adds a new section to Chapter 706, Hawaii Revised Statutes establishing mandatory minimum sentences for sexual assault convictions against minors under age 12.

Requires a mandatory minimum of 6 years and 8 months imprisonment without parole or probation for convictions under HRS 707-730(1)(a), (d), or (e) (sexual assault offenses).

Requires a mandatory minimum of 3 years and 4 months imprisonment without parole or probation for convictions under HRS 707-731 (sexual assault offense).

Requires a mandatory minimum of 1 year and 8 months imprisonment without parole or probation for convictions under HRS 707-732(1)(a) (sexual assault offense).

Effective date is July 1, 2050; does not apply to cases begun before the effective date.
