Department of Accounting and General Services is requested to work with the Hawaii Emergency Medical Services Association and other interested organizations to plan and construct a Hawaii Emergency Responder and Good Samaritan Memorial at the Hawaii State Capitol grounds.

Private funds are to be solicited and used for the memorial's construction.

The memorial should preferably be located on the Diamond Head side of the Kalanimoku Building, with the Department responsible for maintenance.

The Department is requested to submit a report to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the Regular Session of 2015, including findings, recommendations, projected costs, and any necessary implementing legislation.

The resolution honors sixteen emergency responders not covered by the existing Hawaii Law Enforcement Memorial who have died in the line of duty, as well as Good Samaritans who have made ultimate sacrifices in service to the community.
