Encourages the Department of Public Safety to implement a reserve deputy sheriff program to support law enforcement operations.

Notes that reserve deputy sheriff programs use volunteer services from qualified citizens to perform law enforcement duties and provide additional public protection.

Identifies that reserve deputies can perform patrol services, community safety activities, event security, disaster response, emergency calls, arrests, and court testimony.

Requires reserve deputy sheriffs to meet the same training and qualification standards as regular deputy sheriffs.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Governor and Director of Public Safety.
