Commends and supports the Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems (PISCES) for collaborative research with NASA and private industries on basaltic concrete and additive manufacturing technologies

Recognizes PISCES's leadership role in developing technologies to manufacture concrete and materials from volcanic basalt similar to lunar and Martian regolith for potential use on other planetary bodies

Notes Hawaii's abundance of basalt in lava fields could serve as a sustainable, locally-sourced substitute for the concrete currently imported to the State

Requests the State collaborate with PISCES, county agencies, and private industries to explore applications of basaltic concrete and additive manufacturing to reduce Hawaii's dependence on imported concrete

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to NASA, the Office of Aerospace Development, Department of Business Economic Development and Tourism, and PISCES Board of Directors
