Requests the Board of Land and Natural Resources Chairperson to convene a task force to investigate, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding managed shoreline retreat and coastal land acquisition in Hawaii

Task force to comprise 10 members including representatives from the Office of Conservation and Coastal Lands, all four county mayors' offices, State Coastal Zone Management Program, University of Hawaii geology department, an environmental attorney specializing in land use and climate, and a non-governmental land trust representative

Task force directed to consider whether coastal land acquisition adjacent to eroding beaches is feasible, which agency would administer such a program, and how it would be funded

Requires task force to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session

Task force members serve without compensation and the task force dissolves on June 30, 2016
