HI HB1051

Adds a new definition of "Hawaii geographic indication" to mean an agricultural product (excluding coffee and macadamia nuts) that is 100% grown in Hawaii.

Authorizes the Department of Agriculture to establish rules relating to the declaration of Hawaii geographic indication for agricultural commodities.

Amends rulemaking authority to require grades, grade labels, classifications, and Hawaii geographic indication declarations for agricultural commodities sold or shipped within the state.

Extends rulemaking requirements for commercial exporters shipping agricultural commodities outside the state to include declaration of Hawaii geographic indication standards.

Takes effect July 1, 2050.
