Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 321-15.62(b) to increase the maximum number of nursing facility level residents allowed in Type I Expanded Adult Residential Care Homes from two to three residents.

Allows up to six residents total in a Type I home at the discretion of the Department of Health, provided the primary caregiver or home operator is a certified nurse aide with required state-approved training.

Permits the Department of Health to allow additional nursing facility level residents beyond the stated limits for residents already residing in Type I or Type II homes, based on determination of the resident's best interests.

Maintains existing requirements that Type II homes may house six or more residents with no more than twenty percent of licensed capacity as nursing facility level residents, subject to departmental discretion.

Takes effect on July 1, 2015.
