Establishes the University of Hawaii system office of sustainability to coordinate implementation of sustainability policies across all ten campuses.

Office shall develop strategies to achieve carbon neutrality, zero waste, and local food procurement goals; coordinate energy efficiency and renewable energy efforts; and integrate sustainability into curriculum and campus operations.

Office shall develop diversified funding sources including donor cultivation through the University of Hawaii Foundation and provide leadership for system-wide sustainability planning.

Appropriates $500,000 for fiscal year 2015-2016 and $500,000 for fiscal year 2016-2017 to establish the office and hire necessary staff.

Takes effect July 1, 2015.
