Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 612-8 to allow jurors and prospective jurors to claim either mileage reimbursement or bus fare, whichever is greater.

Maintains existing $30 daily payment for each day of actual court attendance.

Changes mileage reimbursement from a flat 33 cents per mile to a comparison option allowing jurors to choose the higher amount between 33 cents per mile or the cost of an adult bus fare.

Allows jurors who appear as summoned but are subsequently excused or exempted from service to still receive either the mileage fee or bus fare reimbursement.

Effective upon approval.
