Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, public schools must provide information to parents or guardians of students entering sixth grade on human papillomavirus, tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis, meningococcal conjugate vaccine, and annual influenza vaccine.

The Department of Health shall develop accurate, educational information and produce materials on these vaccines based on recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Department of Education shall disseminate the health information and materials to parents or guardians of public school students entering sixth grade and post the materials on the department's public website.

The Act aims to improve overall population health and reduce the incidence of cervical and other cancers through vaccine education.

The Act takes effect on July 1, 2050.
