H.C.R. NO. 101 Summary

• Requests the Executive Office on Aging to establish a working group to review adult education services currently offered to senior citizens in Hawaii.

• Working group should examine potential consolidation of duplicative programs and explore new learning opportunities that could benefit seniors more efficiently.

• Working group membership should include representatives from Department of Education, University of Hawaii Outreach College, community college continuing education offices, Honolulu Parks and Recreation, AARP Hawaii, and Kokua Council.

• Working group must submit findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2016 Regular Session convenes.

• Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to relevant state and county officials and organization leaders.
