Director of Health is requested to convene a Climate Change and Health Working Group to assess climate change risks to Hawaii residents' health and develop a strategic plan to address these risks statewide.

Working group will focus on developing disease surveillance systems, creating prediction tools, identifying vulnerable populations, and designing public health communication and workforce training programs related to climate change health impacts.

Group will address specific health threats including water security, food safety, vector-borne diseases, respiratory effects, cardiovascular impacts, air pollution sensitivity, and mental health effects on displaced and at-risk populations.

Director of Health or designee will serve as chairperson; group will include public and private sector health care and public health representatives.

Working group must submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session and will be dissolved on June 30, 2016.
