Urges the City and County of Honolulu to amend its ordinances to include removal of overgrown trees on private property as items that can be cut or removed when determined to be a public nuisance.

Notes that unkempt and overgrown trees pose threats to surrounding infrastructure and people, including falling branches that could cause damage or injury.

Points out that neglected trees can create unsanitary conditions, harbor vermin and plant diseases like blight, and damage gardens and crops.

Acknowledges that current Honolulu ordinances under Article 10, Chapter 41 authorize removal of weeds and vegetation on private property but do not explicitly include trees.

Directs that certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Mayor and City Council Chair of Honolulu.
