Department of Labor and Industrial Relations requested to convene a working group to streamline Hawaii's workers' compensation process under chapter 386, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Working group should consider converting to a computerized system to streamline the workers' compensation claims filing process.

Chairperson to be the Director of Labor and Industrial Relations or Deputy Director, with membership including insurers, attorneys, health care providers, mutual benefit societies, HMOs, and representatives from the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House.

Director of Human Resources Development requested to serve as a working group member.

Working group required to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2017 Regular Session convenes.
