Requests the Hawaii Department of Education to establish a financial literacy task force to develop recommendations for implementing financial literacy education in public schools.

Task force composition includes the Board of Education Chairperson (initial chair), Hawaii State Teachers Association President representative, three educators selected by the Board of Education Chairperson, three financial institution representatives selected by the Senate Education Committee Chair, and three at-large members selected by the House Education Committee Chair.

Task force is directed to identify existing programs, select appropriate curriculum, determine time requirements, address legal and cultural concerns, develop teacher training plans, and create effectiveness metrics for financial literacy education.

Requires the task force to submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session convenes and dissolves on June 30, 2016.

Task force members serve without compensation, and certified copies are to be sent to the Board of Education Chairperson, Superintendent of Education, and Hawaii State Teachers Association President.
