Request for University of Hawaii at Manoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources to convene a working group developing a coordinated framework supporting agriculture education from preschool through post-secondary (P-20).

Working group to be led by the Dean of the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources and include representatives from state agencies, legislative committees, universities, and agriculture organizations.

Working group required to submit implementation strategy and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2017 Regular Session.

Follow-up reports on implementation status required to the Legislature twenty days before the 2018 and 2019 Regular Sessions.

Resolution addresses Hawaii's aging farmer population and shortage of youth interest in agriculture careers by promoting coordinated agriculture education support across state institutions and stakeholders.
