Requests the Auditor conduct a sunrise analysis of the dental therapist profession as proposed under H.B. No. [bill number not specified] pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes section 26H-6.

Defines dental therapists as mid-level providers who deliver oral health care services under dentist supervision in settings serving low-income, uninsured, and underserved patients or areas with dental health professional shortages.

Notes dental therapists currently practice in Minnesota and Alaska with Maine soon to follow, functioning as the dental equivalent of nurse practitioners.

Requires the Auditor to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session convening.

Directs certified copies be transmitted to the Auditor and the Director of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.
