Request the Legislative Reference Bureau to conduct a study of Good Samaritan laws relating to care of rescued animals and reimbursement for that care.

Study should include examination of civil and criminal liability immunity for individuals providing care to rescued animals.

Legislative Reference Bureau must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2017 Regular Session convenes.

Resolution references existing Good Samaritan animal protection laws in Wyoming, Vermont, Washington, South Carolina, North Dakota, and Ohio as models for potential Hawaii legislation.
