Request Department of Education to establish a Hawaii public schools financial literacy task force with representatives from the Board of Education, Hawaii State Teachers Association, financial institutions, and at-large members.

Task force chair to be elected at initial meeting, with Board of Education Chairperson or designee serving as initial chair.

Task force directed to develop recommendations for implementing financial literacy education for all public school students before high school graduation, including curriculum selection, time requirements, and teacher training needs.

Task force to identify existing financial literacy programs, address legal and cultural concerns, develop effectiveness metrics, and submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session.

Task force members serve without compensation and task force dissolves on June 30, 2016.
