Urges the City and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation Services to increase pedestrian safety around Honowai Elementary School in Waipahu, Hawaii, which educates approximately 700 students.

Notes that Hawaii ranks 13th in the nation for pedestrian fatalities, with 25 pedestrian deaths in Honolulu traffic accidents during 2014, up from 16 in 2012 and 19 in 2013.

Identifies heavy pedestrian and vehicular congestion in the area during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal times as a particular safety concern.

Recommends the Department of Transportation Services consider raised or specially-marked crosswalks, pedestrian crossing signs, "School Xing" road markings, and visual cues leading to sidewalks.

Directs certified copies be sent to the Mayor, Department of Transportation Services Director, Honolulu Police Chief, Superintendent of Education, and Principal of Honowai Elementary School.
