Congratulates Catherine Caine as the 2015 Hawaii State Teacher of the Year, recognized for her innovative student-based inquiry approach and commitment to creating an engaging classroom environment at Waikiki Elementary School.

Honors Jamie Takamura as the 2015 Central District Teacher of the Year for her leadership at Red Hill Elementary School, where she helped make it one of only three schools statewide recognized for high performance and closing the achievement gap.

Recognizes Masaru Uchino as the 2015 Leeward District Teacher of the Year, a third grade math teacher at Momilani Elementary School who integrates standards-based learning through original musicals and founded an afterschool fitness program.

Commends Elizabeth Frilles as the 2015 Windward District Teacher of the Year for transforming her science class at Olomana School into a safe learning environment where at-risk students earn science, engineering, and robotics awards.

Honors David Huitt (Hawaii District), Richard Arase (Maui District), and Marly Madayag (Kauai District) as their respective district teachers of the year for their outstanding educational achievements and dedication to student success.
