Congratulates the American Diabetes Association on its 75th anniversary, established in 1940 to promote diabetes awareness, prevention, and advocate for people with diabetes.

Notes that approximately 130,000 people in Hawaii (11.2% of population) have diabetes, with an additional 442,000 (41.5% of population) having prediabetes, totaling over half a million residents affected.

Identifies that approximately 5,000 people in Hawaii are diagnosed with diabetes annually, and that Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders face higher risk of Type 2 Diabetes.

States that diabetes costs Hawaii an estimated $1.5 billion per year and recognizes the American Diabetes Association's role in connecting communities and preventing workplace and school discrimination against people with diabetes.

Designates March 24, 2015, as the 27th Annual American Diabetes Association Alert Day to encourage residents to take the Diabetes Risk Test.
