Congratulates Kahuku High School's We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution team for winning the 2015 Hawaii State Competition on January 21, 2015

Team consists of 15 high school seniors and 1 junior who were tested on the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and knowledge of democracy

Team will represent Hawaii at the National Finals on April 24-27, 2015, at George Mason University and Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.

Program is led by advisor Jan Harney, and the Kahuku team has previously won the state title multiple times and placed in the top ten teams nationally

Recognizes the program's role in promoting civic engagement among youth, noting the low 21.3 percent voter turnout rate for 18-29 year olds in the 2014 National Exit Poll
