Acknowledges Hawaii's heavy dependence on food imports (85-90 percent) and the vulnerability this creates during natural disasters or global events.

Directs state departments to develop and update rules and policies that integrate the local fishing industry into food security and sustainability strategies.

Recognizes fishing as culturally significant to Hawaii and emphasizes fish as a sustainable food source for residents and visitors.

Requires copies of the resolution be sent to the Governor, Board of Land and Natural Resources, Board of Agriculture, Director of Business/Economic Development/Tourism, and Hawaii Fisherman's Alliance for Conservation and Tradition.
