Commemorates the thirtieth anniversary of Hawaii's sister-state relationship with Guangdong Province, established in 1985.

Recognizes that over seventy-five percent of Hawaii's population can trace ancestral roots to Guangdong Province due to early Chinese immigration.

Acknowledges the Guangdong Province Senior Executive Leadership Training Program established at the University of Hawaii in 1999 through the sister-state partnership.

Notes that Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the first president of China, studied at Iolani and Punahou schools and was born in Zhongshan City in Guangdong Province.

Directs transmission of certified copies of the resolution to the United Chinese Society, See Dai Doo Society, Teo Chew Society, and the Governor of Guangdong Province.
