Appropriates $500,000 for fiscal year 2015-2016 and $500,000 for fiscal year 2016-2017 to establish and maintain makerspaces in public libraries statewide.

Defines a makerspace as a do-it-yourself community space where the public may gather to create, invent, and share independent and collaborative projects.

Funds shall be used for equipment, materials, and personnel necessary to operate makerspaces in public libraries.

Directs the board of education to expend the appropriated funds for the purposes of establishing and maintaining the makerspaces.

Takes effect on July 1, 2015.
