Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 386-79 to impose new requirements on physicians selected and paid by employers to conduct workers' compensation medical examinations.

Requires examining physicians to be actively treating at least ten patients in any one-month period and to be actively treating at least 50 percent of all patients examined in a one-month period.

Requires examining physicians to possess medical malpractice insurance.

Defines "actively treating" as examining and treating a patient for ongoing medical advice and treatment, excluding examinations performed for third-party analysis of workers' compensation claims, disability benefit claims, or other personal injury claims.

Takes effect upon approval and does not affect rights, duties, or proceedings that occurred before the effective date.
