Expresses strong support for the faculty and students of the Classics Division at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, which teaches Greek and Latin languages.

Notes that approximately 150 students annually fulfill language requirements through Classics courses, and 50 additional students per semester cannot enroll due to lack of available spaces.

Acknowledges that the Classics Division maintained four faculty and staff members for 45 years, but a recent faculty death has reduced capacity to plan and teach both required introductory and elective courses.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be sent to the Governor, University of Hawaii President, legislature leadership, and the Chair of the Classics Division.
