Director of Health requested to convene a Climate Change and Health Working Group to assess climate change risks to Hawaii residents' health and develop a statewide strategic plan.

Working group to focus on disease surveillance systems, monitoring capacity, and responses to health threats including water security, food safety, vector-borne diseases, respiratory effects, cardiovascular impacts, air pollution, and mental health effects.

Working group to create evidence-based tools for predicting public health impacts, identify vulnerable populations, develop health communication and education programs, and expand public health workforce training.

Director of Health or designee to serve as chairperson or co-chairperson with representation from both public and private sector health organizations.

Working group to submit findings and recommendations to Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2016 Regular Session and be dissolved on June 30, 2016.
