Senate Concurrent Resolution expressing support for co-naming a section of 33rd Street in New York City (between 1st and 2nd Avenues) to "Father Damien Way" in honor of Saint Damien de Veuster.

Saint Damien de Veuster was a Belgian priest who dedicated his life to serving Hansen's disease patients at Kalaupapa, Moloka'i starting in 1873, and contracted the disease himself in 1885 before dying among his patients.

Street-naming ceremony scheduled for May 11, 2015 in New York City, located near Bellevue Hospital which continues treating Hansen's disease and serving underserved populations.

Expected attendees include Hawaii's congressional delegation, governors and mayors of Hawaii and New York, and Roman Catholic bishops from Honolulu and New York, as well as the Minister-President of Flanders.

Directs certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to Hawaii's congressional delegation, state and local officials in Hawaii and New York, and Roman Catholic leadership in both states.
