Request for Department of Education to convene a special education task force to evaluate implementation of recommendations from the WestEd Center's 2010 Hawaii Department of Education Special Education Review

Task force to assess Department of Education progress and make recommendations to improve special education services and outcomes for students with disabilities

Task force composition includes 10 members: Senate and House education committee chairs, Board of Education chair, Special Education Advisory Council chair, Superintendent of Education, Federal Programs Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and representatives from the Special Education Advisory Council, Learning Disabilities Association of Hawaii, and Community Children's Councils

Task force must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2016 Regular Session convening
