Request that the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism, University of Hawaii, Department of Education, and Department of Labor and Industrial Relations collaborate to identify areas for economic growth, diversification, and job creation in Hawaii.

Direct these agencies to develop "keiki to career pathways" for each identified industry that connect K-12 education to skills and knowledge needed for career success.

Request the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism and Department of Labor and Industrial Relations to identify industries with growth potential in various regions and develop regional economic plans for each industry, including information on educational institutions, state facilities, and local entities available to support curriculum development.

Require the Department of Education and University of Hawaii to develop curriculum for each keiki to career pathway and align them with regional economic plans to close the gap between business needs and education outcomes.

Use the Whitmore Project as a model for regional economic planning that coordinates intermediate and secondary education with the skillsets needed by local industries.
